Overview
When a model can't make an image, its tile in the feed turns red, shows a sad face, and says why. The reason comes from the company that runs the model, so the wording changes from model to model.
If nothing in a request arrives, you get its credits back automatically. You don't need to ask.
"Generation failed"
The model returned no image and gave no reason. It usually passes on its own.
Try the same prompt again: open the arrow next to Reuse on the row and choose Re-run. If it fails a second time on the same model, switch models before you rewrite the prompt. Models differ in what they accept, and another one will often make it on the first try.
"The input or output was flagged as sensitive"
The model's safety filter declined your prompt, a reference image, or the image it made. Other models word this differently, but the message mentions safety, moderation or a content policy. The decision is the model provider's, not ours. As with any failure, the credits come back when nothing in the request arrived.
Reword the part of the prompt that could be read the wrong way, or remove reference images one at a time to find the one that trips the filter. Another model may accept it. Some content no model will make.
"Service is currently unavailable due to high demand"
The model has more requests than it can take right now. Wait a few minutes and run it again, or pick another model. Any message that says "try again later" means the same thing.
"Generation timed out"
The image didn't arrive in time, so we stopped waiting. If nothing else in the request arrived either, the credits come back. Videos take longer: a video that hasn't finished 20 minutes after the model starts on it times out. Run it again; if the same model times out twice, try another.
Did I get my credits back?
Yes, if every image in the request failed. The credits return once, automatically, as soon as the request fails. The app doesn't tell you when it happens, so check Settings > Credits > History. Refunds are listed with your spending, so set Type to Usage to narrow the list. A refund reads "Refund, " and the model's name, for example "Refund, Seedream 5 Pro", with a plus amount.
Some images arrived and others failed
The request counts as complete, and the charge stands. If you asked for four images and three arrived, you paid for four. The missing one shows as a red tile next to the others.
This applies to one prompt on one model. With Vary prompts or a variety pack, each image is its own request, so an image that fails there is refunded on its own.
