What is an AI poster and flyer generator?

It lays out a poster or flyer from a description, with the words you quote set in the image. In Batch Banana you write each line in quotes and say where it goes, then upscale the one you pick for print. One Ideogram 4.5 image costs 14 credits, and you can start for free.

Posters and flyers with their prompts

Every card is a real run: the prompt, the model and the credits for one image. Where a prompt names an attached image, the run had one: a reference print for the ink and paper, the sketch, or the poster itself.

A vermilion screen-printed gig poster inset on black: BOSSA in huge warped navy letters fills the sheet, with Summer Sessions, Saturday 9 August, 9 PM, Live on the roof and 12 Harbour Street bent into the gaps, and a small crescent moon

A portrait gig poster, screen printed in two flat inks on uncoated paper: a saturated vermilion ground and a deep navy ink. The sheet sits inset on a black field with an even margin. The word "BOSSA" is warped with a pinch and perspective distortion so its strokes swell and taper and fill the whole sheet. Supporting lines in a heavy condensed grotesque, bent along the same warp and tucked into the gaps between the letters: "SATURDAY 9 AUGUST", "9 PM", "LIVE ON THE ROOF", "12 HARBOUR STREET". A small tagline at the top: "SUMMER SESSIONS". A thin navy crescent moon sits in one gap, for a rooftop night in August. The print is photographed flat under soft north-window daylight, showing slight ink spread at the letter edges and the paper's tooth. Every line of text stays inside the sheet. No other text.

A white type poster: SAMPLE in heavy black capitals over four rows of SALE in red, each row fainter than the last, and a small black block reading Ward & Pell, Saturday 14 November, 10am to 5pm, Unit 3, Canal Works

A portrait type poster for a small clothing label's sample sale in November, screen printed in two flat inks, signal red and near black, on bright white uncoated paper. The word "SAMPLE" set huge in a tight heavy condensed grotesque in near black across the top, edge to edge. Below it, the word "SALE" in the same face, repeated five times in a stack, each repeat printed fainter in red, as if the screen ran out of ink. A small near-black text block at the lower left: "WARD & PELL", "Saturday 14 November", "10am to 5pm", "Unit 3, Canal Works". White margins on every side; all text well inside the sheet. Shown flat and full frame under even north-window daylight, crisp ink edges, slight ink spread, faint paper tooth. No pictures, no starbursts, no other text.

An ultramarine poster with FILM CLUB in huge cream capitals, a flat yellow projector beam widening to a cream screen, and Fig Court, Thursdays in July, 9.30 pm and Bring a cushion in small cream type at the lower left

A portrait type poster for a summer courtyard film club, screen printed in flat inks on uncoated paper: a deep ultramarine ground, warm cream ink, and one accent of signal yellow. "FILM" over "CLUB" set huge in a tight bold neo-grotesque in cream, letters almost touching, filling the top half edge to edge. Below it, one flat signal-yellow wedge, a projector beam, widening from a small point at the lower left to a flat cream rectangle at the right, the screen. A small cream text block at the lower left: "FIG COURT", "Thursdays in July", "9.30 pm", "Bring a cushion." Even margins; all text well inside the sheet. Shown flat and full frame in soft north-window daylight, crisp ink edges, faint paper tooth. No pictures, no texture inside the shapes, no other text.

A cream opening poster for Ferry Street Bakery: a cobalt mosaic of loaves, croissants, wheat and swallows across the top, the name in a gold oval, NOW OPEN in tall cobalt capitals, three menu lines with prices, and From 7am · 22 Ferry Street at the foot

A portrait opening poster for a neighborhood bakery on a river street in early spring, screen printed in two inks, deep cobalt blue and mustard gold, on speckled cream stock. The top half is a geometric mosaic of bakery shapes in cobalt: round loaves, a braided loaf, croissants, wheat ears and a swallow in flight, filled with halftone dots and rough screen-print grain. In the center, a gold oval reading "FERRY STREET BAKERY" in caps with a small swallow mark. Below it, "NOW OPEN" in large condensed cobalt caps. Then three menu lines in a cobalt monospaced face with prices aligned right: "SOURDOUGH LOAF 6", "OLIVE FOCACCIA 4", "PISTACHIO BUN 3.50". At the foot: "From 7am · 22 Ferry Street". The print is shown flat and full frame in even early-morning window light, with paper speckle and slight ink grain. All text keeps a clear margin from the top and bottom edges. No other text.

A takeaway menu for a noodle bar, printed in two inks, tomato red and sky blue, on a cream card, lying flat on a dark walnut counter and filling most of the frame, seen from directly above in late-afternoon window light. Rounded cream panels on a sky-blue card, headings in a rounded condensed red face, items in blue caps with prices aligned right. Header: "LUCKY OTTER NOODLES" beside a small drawn otter holding chopsticks. Panel "NOODLE SOUPS": "SHOYU RAMEN 13", "MISO CORN RAMEN 13", "SESAME TANTANMEN 14". Panel "COLD NOODLES": "ZARU SOBA 11", "SESAME UDON SALAD 12". Panel "SMALL PLATES": "PORK GYOZA 8", "CUCUMBER PICKLES 5", "CHILI EDAMAME 6". A white flyer taped to a grey painted brick wall: RUN CLUB in huge black capitals, the days, time, meeting point and Ashby Park Run Club in orange, and a row of RUN CLUB 6.45AM tear-off tabs with three torn away

A tear-off flyer for a weekday morning run club, screen printed in two inks, fluorescent orange and black, on white paper, taped with two strips of clear tape to a pale grey painted brick wall and filling most of the frame, in low early-morning sun from the left that casts a soft shadow under the tabs. "RUN" over "CLUB" set huge in a heavy tight grotesque in black, edge to edge across the top. Under it, a small orange text block: "Tuesdays and Thursdays", "6.45am · 5k, every pace", "Meet at the bandstand", "Ashby Park Run Club". Along the bottom edge, ten cut tear-off tabs, each printed sideways in black with "RUN CLUB 6.45AM"; three tabs are torn away. No pictures, no other text.

A white type poster: OPEN over STUDIOS in huge black condensed capitals over an orange circle, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May in cobalt, and a small black block about forty artists and designers on Granary Street, 11am to 6pm

Use the layout of the sketch in Image 1: a huge two-line title filling the top two thirds, a date line under it, a small text block at the lower left. Make the finished poster itself, flat and full frame, not the notebook. A type poster for a neighborhood open studios weekend in May, screen printed in three flat inks, black, signal orange and cobalt blue, on white uncoated paper. Title: "OPEN" over "STUDIOS", set huge in a tight heavy condensed grotesque in black, each word filling the width edge to edge, overprinting one flat signal-orange circle that sits behind the O. Date line in cobalt: "Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May". Small black text block at the lower left: "Forty artists and designers", "open their doors", "Granary Street and around", "11am to 6pm". White margins; all text well inside the sheet. Shown flat under even north-window daylight, crisp ink edges, slight ink spread. No pictures, no other text.

Two copies of the open studios poster pasted side by side on a whitewashed brick wall in late afternoon sun, the shadow of a street lamp across the wall

Image 1 is the poster: keep its artwork and every word exactly. Two copies of the poster are wheat-pasted side by side, flat and straight, on a clean whitewashed brick wall on a quiet city street, seen from the pavement at a slight angle in late-afternoon sun, a hard diagonal shadow from a street lamp crossing the wall. 35mm lens, natural color, both posters sharp and fully in frame. No other posters, no graffiti, no people, no other text.

One poster prompt on three models

All three set every quoted line. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst filled the sheet with halftone records, Ideogram 4.5 left white paper between the shapes and showed the print on a wall, and Nano Banana 2.1 added a white border.

One brief, three models

A square poster for a spring record fair, screen printed in three inks, signal orange, lavender and deep navy, on smooth white stock. The words "RECORD FAIR" set huge in a tight navy grotesque, broken over three lines as "REC", "ORD", "FAIR", overlapping a camouflage of orange and lavender halftone shapes like scattered records. A narrow block of smaller navy text at the lower right: "Sunday 12 April", "10am to 4pm", "Old Seed Hall", "40 dealers · free entry". The print is shown flat and full frame under even daylight from a north-facing studio window, with crisp ink edges and a few spreading halftone dots. No other text.

Each result shown was picked from three images of one run, nothing retouched. Nano Banana 2.1's first run added fake sponsor logos, so the run shown adds two lines: every letter complete and readable, and no logos or small print. Proofread every word before you print.

How it works

How to create a poster for print

  1. Quote every line

Write the headline, the date, the venue and the price in quotes and say where each one sits. Say that no other text should appear, or the model may add some.

  2. Pick a ratio for the paper

A4 and A3 are 1 to 1.41, between 2:3 and 3:4. Make the poster at either, keep words away from the edges, and expect about 6% to come off one side.

  3. Upscale the one you print

Print wants about 300 pixels per inch, so an A4 page is 2480 by 3508 pixels. Precision upscale keeps the detail as it is; Creative upscale adds new detail.

One run on Ideogram 4.5: 4 images at 2:3, 56 credits.
