Oil pastel
Waxy, thick strokes of bright color.

Oil pastel drawing: thick, waxy, opaque strokes of saturated color laid in short directional marks and scribbled hatching, with paper tooth breaking through at the edges. Colors layered and smeared over each other instead of blended smooth. Simplified, flattened shapes with rough edges, and bold color pairings such as pink with cobalt or yellow with teal.
