What's New

Nano Banana 2.1 is here

Google's new Flash image model is now the default: sharper images, cleaner text and steadier characters, at 10 credits per image instead of 16.

Nano Banana 2.1

Nano Banana 2.1 is now available in Batch Banana and replaces Nano Banana 2 as the default model. It is Google's newest Flash image model: sharper images, closer prompt adherence, cleaner text and steadier characters across edits.

It costs less too. A 1K image is 10 credits, down from 16. 2K is 15 and 4K is 23, down from 24 and 40. Generate from a prompt alone or with up to 14 reference images, at 1K, 2K or 4K, in any of 10 aspect ratios.

Anything set to Nano Banana 2 now runs on Nano Banana 2.1: your saved model choice, Agent chats, batches and API calls. Images you already made keep their Nano Banana 2 label.

In Batch Banana, Nano Banana 2.1 is selected when you create an image. Ask Agent to use it in a chat, or connect Claude or another AI assistant to the Batch Banana MCP server and generate from there.

Also new

  • New models are easier to find. Models released in the last three weeks show a New badge and sit at the top of the model list until you try them.
  • A shorter model list. Flux 2, Flux 2 Pro, Flux 2 Max, Flux 2 Flex, Nano Banana, Qwen Image and Seedream 4.5 are retired. Anything set to one of them now runs on its successor: Flux 3 Image, Nano Banana 2.1 or Seedream 5 Lite. Images you made with them keep their original label.
