# MCP server

Generate images and video from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and any other AI app that supports MCP.

Batch Banana is an app for making images and video with many AI models, paid for from one credit balance. Its MCP server lets the AI app you already work in use those models: pick one, check the price, make and edit images, and find your earlier work.

All you need is a Batch Banana account. There is no API key and nothing to install: you add one URL to your app and sign in. A new account gets 100 free credits once you verify your email.

```
https://mcp.batchbanana.com/mcp
```

The URL and short setup steps are also in Batch Banana, under _Settings > MCP_.

![The Connect section in Settings > MCP: the server URL with a copy button, and tabs for Claude, ChatGPT and Other clients, with Claude's three setup steps showing.](https://batchbanana.com/docs/connect/mcp/connect.light.webp)

The steps below follow each app's own setup guide as of October 2026. Apps rename their menus often. If a step doesn't match what you see, the app's guide has the current path.

## Connect Claude

On claude.ai, open _Customize > Connectors_. Choose **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**. Give it a name, paste the URL and choose **Continue**. Claude then asks when you want to sign in to Batch Banana, and **Add** finishes the setup.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector first: in _Organization settings > Connectors_, choose **Add**, then _Custom > Web_. Members then find it under _Customize > Connectors_ and choose **Connect**.

## Connect Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http batch-banana https://mcp.batchbanana.com/mcp
```

Then type `/mcp` inside Claude Code and sign in in the browser window it opens. The server is added for the current project. To have it in every project, add `--scope user` after the name.

## Connect ChatGPT

Developer mode is on ChatGPT's paid plans, on the web. Open _Settings > Security and login_ and turn on **Developer mode**. Then open _Plugins_, select the **+** button, and create an app with the URL. To use it, choose **Developer mode** from the **+** menu in a chat and select the app.

## Connect Cursor

Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` to have it in every project, or to `.cursor/mcp.json` inside one project:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "batch-banana": { "url": "https://mcp.batchbanana.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

Cursor's guide says it supports sign-in for servers that need it, which this one does.

## Connect Codex

Run these in your terminal:

```bash
codex mcp add batch-banana --url https://mcp.batchbanana.com/mcp
codex mcp login batch-banana
```

The Codex CLI, the Codex IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this setting, so adding it once covers all three. In the IDE extension or the desktop app, you can choose **Authenticate** instead of running the login command.

## Other apps

Most apps that read a config file accept the same entry as Cursor. It is under **Other clients** in _Settings > MCP_, with a copy button.

## Sign in and choose a workspace

The first time your app connects, it opens a Batch Banana page in your browser. Sign in, or create an account from the sign-in page.

The next screen names the app and the workspace it will use. If you belong to more than one workspace, pick one. It lists what the app will be able to do:

- Generate images and video
- Edit and upscale images
- View generation results
- Read your library
- Import images to your library

Choose **Allow access** and go back to your app. The app can also read the list of models and their prices. The screen leaves that one out, since it holds nothing of yours.

The page stays valid for 10 minutes. If it says "Authorization request expired", start again from your app.

Each connection uses one workspace and spends that workspace's credits. Connect the workspace you want to pay from. To use another one, connect again and pick it.

## Try it

Ask for one image in your first test. Without a count, Batch Banana makes 4.

> Make one image of a chocolate bar in a cobalt paper wrapper lying on an old atlas, in hard window light.

What to ask next is in [Ask your AI app](https://batchbanana.com/docs/connect/use-in-your-ai-app).

## FAQ

**What does it cost?**
Connecting is free. So are looking up models, searching your library and asking for a price. Images, video and paid edits use the workspace's [credits](https://batchbanana.com/docs/account-and-billing/credits), at the same prices as in the app. Each model's price is in [Credit costs](https://batchbanana.com/docs/account-and-billing/credit-costs).

**Can my teammates connect?**
Yes, any member can. Have each person connect from their own account, so _Settings > MCP_ shows who connected what.

**How do I disconnect an app?**
In _Settings > MCP_, under **Connected apps**, choose **Disconnect** next to the app. It loses access right away. You can disconnect the apps you connected, and the workspace owner can disconnect any of them.

**Can the app delete my work?**
No. It can't delete anything or reach your other workspaces, your account or your billing. See [MCP tools](https://batchbanana.com/docs/connect/mcp-tools).
