# Plans

Choose how many credits your workspace gets each month, and what you pay for them.

## Overview

A plan sets how many credits your workspace gets each month and what you pay for them. Larger plans cost less per credit.

Free has no monthly credits. A new account's personal workspace starts with 100 welcome credits, enough to try a few models before you choose. See [Credits](https://batchbanana.com/docs/account-and-billing/credits).

**Yearly** is the price for a full year, paid up front. **One-time bonus** is added once, the first time a workspace starts a paid plan.

## How monthly credits work

Each month your plan adds its credits on top of your balance. Credits you don't use stay in the balance and carry over to the next month. On yearly billing you pay once a year and the credits still arrive each month.

If you run out before the month ends, buy a credit pack in **Settings > Credits**. Packs cost more per credit than a plan.

## Choose a plan

Open your user menu and choose **Choose a plan** (it reads **Change plan** once you're on one), or go to **Settings > Plan**. Pick monthly or yearly at the top, then a plan.

Only the workspace owner can choose or change the plan. Members see who to ask.

A plan belongs to one workspace. If you have two workspaces, each has its own plan and its own balance.

## Tips

- Spend your welcome credits first. Count how many images you made in a week and [what they cost](https://batchbanana.com/docs/account-and-billing/credit-costs), then pick the plan that covers a month of that.
- If you buy credit packs most months, the next plan up is usually cheaper.
- Yearly billing costs less than twelve monthly payments. Pick it once you know which plan fits.

## FAQ

**What happens when I upgrade?**
The new plan starts right away. You pay the difference for the rest of the billing period, and the extra monthly credits arrive at once.

**What happens when I downgrade?**
The change happens at the end of your billing period. Until then you keep your current plan.

**Do I lose credits if I downgrade or cancel?**
No. Credits stay in the workspace when you change plans and after you cancel.

**Can my team share one plan?**
Yes. Everyone in a workspace spends from its balance, and the owner pays.
